Travel tips for Goa
 
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: Besides a passport, most foreign nationals require a visa to visit India. They are obtained at Indian Missions, Consulates and High Commissions overseas. Visas may be valid from a period of 15 days to 6 months. Validity starts form the date of issue and may be extended in India at the local "Foreigners Registration Office located in every major city in India. In Goa it is located at the Police Headquarters at Panaji. Fees for Visas vary in different countries. It is advisable to check with the Indian Missions Overseas.

HEALTH FORMALITIES: India being a tropical country, certain diseases are common. It is worthwhile to get vaccinations and immunizations against these diseases prior to travelling to Goa, India. Travelers originating or transiting through countries where Yellow Fever is endemic should conform to International Health Regulations. To cope with health emergencies, it is advisable to keep the International Health Certificate handy.

FAVOURABLE TIME TO VISIT GOA: The best time to visit Goa is between the month of October and December.

CURRENCY: As with the rest of India, the currency used in Goa is Rupees. One can either carry traveler's checks, which is safer or foreign currency. Banks and authorized dealers are easily available throughout Goa.

CLIMATE: The temperature in Goa ranges between 21degrees Celsius in winter to 35 degrees Celsius in summer. Goa receives rainfall between June and September.
